Barrhaven Tiffin Service – Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: October 11, 2026

Welcome to Barrhaven Tiffin Service. These Terms & Conditions apply to all customers who purchase our vegetarian tiffin meals, meal plans, or other food services. By placing an order through our website, customers agree to the following terms.

1. Service Area and Delivery Locations

Barrhaven Tiffin Service provides vegetarian meal delivery in Barrhaven, Ottawa, Ontario, and selected surrounding areas.

Delivery availability depends on your location and our delivery routes.
Additional delivery charges may apply to certain areas and will be communicated before your order is confirmed.
Customers must provide a complete and accurate delivery address, including the street number, unit or apartment number, postal code, buzzer code, and any necessary delivery instructions.
Customers are responsible for checking their delivery information before completing checkout.
We reserve the right to decline deliveries to locations outside our service area.

2. Ordering Deadline

All orders, meal selections, and requests for changes for the following delivery day must be submitted by 9:00 p.m. the previous evening.
Requests received after the deadline may not be accepted.
Orders are prepared based on confirmed bookings, and last-minute changes cannot be guaranteed.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their selected meal plan and order details are correct before submitting payment.

3. Vegetarian Meals Only

Barrhaven Tiffin Service specializes exclusively in vegetarian food.

We do not serve meat, poultry, fish, or seafood.
Our meals are prepared using vegetarian ingredients.
Menus may include roti, sabzi, paneer dishes, rice, dal, salad, chutney, and other vegetarian items, depending on the selected plan.
Menu items may vary based on availability and seasonal ingredients. If a substitution is necessary, we will make reasonable efforts to provide a comparable vegetarian alternative.
Customers must inform us of food allergies or dietary restrictions before placing an order.

Although we take reasonable precautions when preparing food, we cannot guarantee that our meals are completely free from allergens or cross-contact.

4. Meal Plans and Portion Sizes

Each meal plan includes the quantities, portions, and meal components specified in its description on our website.
Customers should review the details of the Essential, Plus, or Max plan before purchasing.
Any optional extras, special requests, or additional meals may incur extra charges.
Individual food preferences and special requests are subject to availability and confirmation.

5. Payments and Stripe

Payments are processed through Stripe, our third-party payment processor.
Customers must provide valid payment information and ensure that their payment method can cover the total order amount.
Barrhaven Tiffin Service does not directly store customers’ full payment card details.
Stripe may be responsible for certain payment-processing functions, but Barrhaven Tiffin Service remains responsible for addressing billing issues relating to our own orders and services.
If a payment fails, is duplicated, or appears incorrect, customers should contact us so that we can investigate and assist.
Refunds and payment disputes will be handled in accordance with our refund policy and applicable consumer protection laws.
Customers must not submit duplicate orders to resolve a payment issue without first checking whether the original order was successful.

6. Delivery and Customer Responsibility

Customers must provide accurate delivery information and any access instructions required to complete delivery.
Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by traffic, weather, road conditions, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Once your order has been delivered, a delivery notification will be sent using the contact method available to us.
Customers must collect their food promptly after receiving the delivery notification.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that someone is available to receive the order or that an appropriate, agreed-upon drop-off location is provided.
Once food has been delivered to the agreed location, customers are responsible for promptly collecting it and handling and storing it safely.
Barrhaven Tiffin Service is not responsible for food left unattended, collected late, or improperly stored after delivery, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
If an order is delivered to the wrong location due to incorrect information supplied by the customer, we may not be able to provide a replacement or redelivery.

If you experience a delivery problem, please contact us promptly so that we can review the circumstances.

7. Food Storage and Safety

Our meals are prepared for fresh consumption and should be handled safely after delivery.

Meals intended for same-day consumption should be eaten promptly or refrigerated until needed.
Perishable food should not remain at room temperature for more than two hours, or one hour when the outdoor or surrounding temperature exceeds 32°C.
Refrigerate perishable meals promptly and follow appropriate reheating instructions.
Customers are responsible for safe storage, handling, and reheating after delivery.
We cannot guarantee food safety if meals are left unrefrigerated for extended periods or handled or stored improperly after delivery.

8. Delivery Charges

Delivery charges depend on the delivery location and applicable service area.
Some locations may qualify for free delivery, while others may require an additional fee.
Any applicable delivery charge will be communicated before the order is confirmed.
Customers are responsible for reviewing the final amount payable at checkout.

9. National Holidays and Scheduled Closures

Barrhaven Tiffin Service will be closed on Canadian national and statutory holidays. No regular tiffin deliveries will be provided on these closure days.
We will make reasonable efforts to notify customers of holiday closures in advance.
If a scheduled meal is missed because Barrhaven Tiffin Service is closed for a holiday or cancels a scheduled service, the missed meal will be added to the end of the customer’s active meal plan, extending the plan accordingly.
Customers will not be charged an additional fee for replacement meals owed due to a closure initiated by Barrhaven Tiffin Service.
Holiday schedules and any applicable changes to delivery dates will be communicated to customers through our available communication channels.

10. Customer Absences and Missed Deliveries

Customers should notify us in advance if they will be unavailable to receive their meals.
If a delivery cannot be completed because the customer is unavailable, the address is incorrect, or access instructions are incomplete, redelivery is not guaranteed.
Additional delivery charges may apply if a second delivery attempt is agreed upon.
Meals that have already been prepared or dispatched are not automatically eligible for a refund or replacement when delivery fails for customer-related reasons, subject to applicable law.

11. Pausing or Changing a Meal Plan

Customers who wish to pause, change, or reschedule a meal plan must contact us in advance.
Requests must be submitted before the 9:00 p.m. ordering deadline for the affected delivery day.
Requests submitted after the deadline may not be accommodated because meal preparation and delivery routes may already have been finalized.
Approval of a pause or rescheduling request depends on the circumstances and our operational capacity.
Customers should obtain confirmation from us before assuming that a plan has been paused or changed.

12. Cancellations and Refunds

Customers should contact Barrhaven Tiffin Service as soon as possible to request cancellation of an order or meal plan.
Orders already prepared or dispatched may not be eligible for cancellation.
Refund eligibility will depend on the order status, services already provided, the reason for cancellation, and applicable law.
If we are unable to provide a paid meal, we will work with the customer to arrange an appropriate remedy, such as a replacement meal or refund where applicable.
Any refund approved by us will generally be returned through the original payment method, subject to payment-processing procedures.
We do not exclude or limit any refund, cancellation, or other rights that customers have under applicable law.

13. Food Quality and Order Issues

We take reasonable care to prepare and package our meals hygienically and accurately.
Customers should check their order upon receipt and notify us promptly of missing items, incorrect meals, damaged packaging, or other concerns.
Please provide the delivery date, order details, and photographs where practical to help us investigate.
We will review reported issues and determine an appropriate resolution based on the circumstances and applicable law.

14. Allergies and Dietary Restrictions

Customers must inform us of relevant food allergies and dietary requirements before ordering.
Our kitchen handles various ingredients, and cross-contact may occur during food preparation, cooking, or packaging.
We cannot guarantee that meals are suitable for customers with severe allergies unless specific arrangements have been confirmed in writing.
Customers with serious food allergies should contact us before purchasing a meal plan and should not order if we cannot safely accommodate their requirements.

15. Pricing and Menu Changes

Meal prices, menus, delivery areas, and available plans may change from time to time.
The price displayed and confirmed at checkout will apply to the purchase, subject to applicable law and any agreed changes.
We may update menus based on seasonal availability, ingredient supply, and operational requirements.
Any material changes affecting an existing paid order will be communicated to the customer where reasonably necessary.

16. Automatic Subscription Renewal and Cancellation Policy

All eligible meal plan subscriptions will automatically renew at the end of each subscription period unless the customer cancels the renewal in advance.
Customers must submit their cancellation request at least seven (7) days before the scheduled renewal date to prevent the next automatic payment and renewal.
If a cancellation request is received fewer than seven (7) days before the renewal date, the subscription may renew automatically, and the applicable payment may be processed for the next subscription period.
Customers are responsible for managing their subscriptions and submitting cancellation requests within the required notice period.
Cancellation requests must be submitted through the cancellation method provided on our website or by contacting Barrhaven Tiffin Service through our published contact details.
Customers should obtain confirmation of their cancellation and retain it for their records.
Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals once the cancellation takes effect. It does not automatically cancel a subscription period that has already renewed or guarantee a refund for a payment already processed.
Refunds, cancellation rights, and payment disputes remain subject to applicable consumer protection laws and our refund policy.
By purchasing an automatically renewing subscription, customers acknowledge and agree to the renewal frequency, applicable charges, and seven-day cancellation notice requirement disclosed at checkout.

17. Customer Contact Information

Customers must provide a valid phone number and email address when placing an order, where requested.
Customers are responsible for checking delivery notifications and important service announcements.
We may contact customers regarding order confirmations, deliveries, service closures, payment issues, and other matters directly related to their orders.

18. Privacy and Personal Information

Customer information is used to process orders, coordinate deliveries, manage meal plans, communicate service updates, and provide customer support.
Payment processing is handled through Stripe under its applicable terms and privacy practices.
We will handle personal information in accordance with our privacy policy and applicable Canadian and Ontario privacy laws.

19. Unforeseen Circumstances

Circumstances such as severe weather, road closures, emergencies, utility outages, ingredient shortages, or other events beyond our reasonable control may affect our ability to provide meals or deliveries on schedule.

If such circumstances arise, we will make reasonable efforts to notify affected customers and arrange an appropriate solution.

20. Limitation of Liability

Barrhaven Tiffin Service is not responsible for losses or problems caused by incorrect customer information, failure to collect a delivered order promptly, or improper food storage or handling after delivery, to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law, including any non-waivable consumer rights.

21. Changes to These Terms

Barrhaven Tiffin Service may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our services, policies, or legal requirements.

The latest version will be published on our website with the updated date. Changes will apply as permitted by applicable law and will not retroactively remove rights relating to purchases already made.

22. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario.

If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
